Jonathan Erwin

Jonathan Erwin is a Director at Certum Group where he leads business development for litigation finance and affirmative solutions. In his 20-plus year legal career, he has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in complex commercial litigation, acted as General Counsel for entrepreneurial businesses, and advised claimholders and law firms on all aspects of litigation finance. He excels at finding creative, rational, economical, and ethical solutions to legal and business challenges.
EDUCATION
Jonathan earned his BA in History from Colorado College and his JD from The University of Texas School of Law.
EXPERIENCE AND RECOGNITION
Before joining Certum Group, Jonathan was the Senior Managing Director of Permentum Capital, LLC, which is a litigation-finance firm, where he oversaw business development. Prior to Permentum, he was the Managing Director for Sabalo Financial, LLC, which was a litigation-finance consulting and brokerage firm that he founded. He began his legal career at the commercial litigation boutique Figari + Davenport, LLP in Dallas, where he practiced general business, energy, and antitrust litigation. After leaving F+D, he went in-house, where he negotiated and closed numerous complex transactions, including the sale of three companies.
